National Honor Society
Admission to the National Honor Society is the greatest academic honor that can come to a high school student. It stands for excellence of achievement not only in one field, but also in every field of endeavor. Scholarship alone will not admit a student to the National Honor Society. To scholarship must be added service, leadership, and character. A student may, therefore, make the highest grades and still not be admitted to the National Honor Society if he/she does nothing for his/her school or if he/she shows traits of character that are undesireable. The students who have achieved these high grade standards have been chosen by the faculty of Elmwood High School to become members of the Elmwood Chapter of the National Honor Society derserve the highest praise and congratulations for their excellent record while in high school.
